Thing 12 Social Media Sites

I imagine there would be a lot of people addicted to sites like Digg. I am not one of them. I', not a news hound (I'm not sure if that is good or bad) Also, after looking at each of the sites I wouldn't send younger students like mine to them due to the content. Maybe someone should make a kid friendly site with kid friendly content and reading level. That I would use. Maybe there is one?

Two social networking sites for kids are: Nicktropolis(http://www.nick.com/nicktropolis/game/index.jhtml)and Disney (http://disney.go.com/index)but these are not exactly like Digg. I'm thinking you mean something like Weekly Reader for kids but on the web? Which is there, but you need to subscribe.

Something you might want to look at is a browser specifically for kids like Kidzui (http://www.kidzui.com/)
which has 800,000 sites vetted by teachers for kids 3-12 and offers e-mails and online reports of your kids' online activities. I don't know if it would work in a library setting, but it does sound interesting.
